The Le Mars Distribution Center is a food grade warehouse storing raw materials for the world's premier ice cream manufacturer. It serves our customer as a contract warehouse for the freezer and cooler space; the public warehouse portion stores a multitude of vendor-managed inventory products from various suppliers to the dairy production industry. These vendors receive preferred buying status from the manufacturer for storing product in the facility that provides JIT delivery to the production floor. The Le Mars site is the first Bekins facility to utilize our cutting edge Distribution Center Management System (DCMS), a software package offering real time RF inventory scanning, complete supply chain visibility, ERP and MRP shop floor management. In Le Mars, we directly interface with our customer's ERP. Real time inventory reporting to both the vendor and the manufacturer is available via the Bekins website.
